UK Chief Minister against the ripped jeans culture

Dehradun: the chief minister of Uttrakhand said in the inaugural session of the two-day workshop organized by the Uttrakhand State Commission for protection of child rights in Dehradun that ripped jeans is against our culture and a product of modernization and while the west is getting inspired by us to do yoga and cover themselves properly we are moving towards nudity. He mentioned that he was shocked to see a woman who ran an NGO wearing ripped jeans and was concerned about what kind of message it will give to society.

The chief Minister Shri Tirath Singh Rawat added “If this kind of woman goes out in the society to meet people and solve their problems, what kind of message are we giving out to the society, to our kids? It all starts at home. What do we do, our kids follow.” The minister also blamed the English medium educational system for the same.

People are enraged as well as shocked due to the controversial comments made by Rawat and are demanding an apology. They view this as supporting the patriarchal and misogynist mindset. Therefore, to show their protest people are posting pictures of them wearing ripped jeans with the #rippedjeans. The government and chief minister are still silent on the topic.
