Shahbaz Ahmed’s 3 wickets over paved the path of victory for Royal Challengers against Hyderabad.
Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad in the second match of their IPL campaign for 6 runs. Sunrisers won the toss and elected to bowl first, RCB had their youthful and promising batsman Devdutt Padikkal back in the side, who opened the innings with their captain but promptly lost his wicket for just 11 runs.
His partner, captain Virat went on to score 33 runs of 29, whereas Australian big hitter Glenn Maxwell was the best batsman for RCB today with a score of 59 of 41 deliveries hitting 5 boundaries and 3 sixes. Jason Holder took three wickets for SRH by giving away only 30 runs in his first ipl match this season.
And as always their star bowler Rashid Khan performed excellently today as he took 2 wickets and gave away only 18 runs, with a wicket being AB Devillers. RCB posted a total of 149 in the end with a loss of 8 wickets. Hyderabad replied to their opponents with a strong start where they missed only 1 wicket at a total of 95, but things started to change as soon as Manish Pandey lost his wicket after scoring 38, it looked similar to a comfortable victory for Sunrisers when captain Warner and Pandey were batting.
David Warner scored highest for Srh today with 54 of 37 deliveries. But things just went down after then, wickets started to fell one by one after the fall of their top management batsmen’s and in the end, Sunrisers fell short by 6 runs. Shabaz Ahmed’s three-wicket over was the talking point of today’s match which really snatched a win from Sunrisers Hyderabad. Delhi Capitals will face Rajasthan Royals tomorrow in their second match of the campaign at Wankhede Stadium.
