Muslim Civil Rights Group calls on Microsoft,Sony and various other digital platforms to ban the game“Six Days in Fallujah” : These days, controversy in every field regarding religious sentiments being hurt is almost common.Recently this also covered the field of E-sports where,a Muslim Civil Rights group called on Microsoft, Sony and various other digital platforms to refrain from hosting or distributing the game called “Six Days in Fallujah”.

The Washington DC based civil rights group which advocates for the rights of Muslims, The Council on American-Islamic Relations;popularly known as CAIR has issued a notice urging all digital game hosting and distribution platforms like Microsoft, Sony, Epic Games and various others not to host or distribute the game in any format.

Six days in Fallujah is an upcoming first-person shooting video game developed by Highwire Games and published by Victura. The trailer for Six Days in Fallujah arrived in March but did little to convince critics that the project is worth reviving. As the name of the game suggests, it’s based on The Second Battle of Fallujah which took place over a span of 6 days.

According to the group, the game is offensive and is bound to bring in bad memories for the survivors of the war as well for those who suffered due to the war. A huge amount of blood was shed with the death of many soldiers as well as the killing of many innocent civilians. Therefore, it is believed that the game might offend those who had to sacrifice their beloved in the incident. The statement by CAIR said that the “gaming industry must stop dehumanizing Muslims” and that “games like Six Days in Fallujah only serve to glorify violence that took the lives of hundreds of Iraqi civilians.”

The game that was set to release in early months of 2021 now rests on the hands of fate as well as uncertainty as it has already faced a number of backlashes beforehand. But, now with the statement from the CAIR to all the digital distribution and hosting platforms it’s like the final nail in the coffin. It now seems like all the hardwork and capital spent on the game will go a total waste.
