Liverpool will be looking to avoid losing 5 home games in a row for the first time in Premier League history and Thomas Tuchel’s Blues travel to Anfield on Thursday night. Liverpool’s injury problems have been one of the reasons for their slump this season and they are currently languishing in 6th place, 22 points behind league leaders Manchester City. Chelsea is in 5th and has one point more. However they have been unbeaten ever since Thomas Tuchel took over and Thiago Silva their only injury concern, has returned to training too. Jurgen Klopp will be thankful to have Fabinho back, with his defensive options being threadbare. Diogo Jota will continue to be absent with Jordan Henderson most probably ruled out for the rest of the season. Van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Matip too, are unlikely to feature again this season. Liverpool will look to get their front three firings again, especially as Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino have been poor all season. However, it was mane who netted a brace the last time these two sides faced each other, with Alisson saving Jorginho’s penalty. He will look to get his first scalp against a top-six side, after a goalless draw against Manchester United on Sunday.
