Half centuries by Maxwell and Devillers helps Royal Challengers Bangalore beat Kolkata knight riders for 60 runs.

Today, Royal Challengers Bangalore faced Kolkata knight riders at the M.A Chidambaram Stadium in the 1st match of the super Sunday, where RCB won the toss and elected to bat first, captain Virat and young devdutt Padikkal opened the innings where Virat got dismissed for just 5 and Padikkal for 25. But the Australian big hitter Glenn Maxwell managed the inning really well, scoring a brilliant knock of 78 off 49 deliveries, hitting 9 boundaries and 3 sixes. And the star batsman Ab Devillers gave RCB the perfect finish to their brilliant innings with a fast fire 76 off 34 balls, hitting 9 boundaries and 3 sixes in the end, this took RCB to a total of 204 in the end.

Nitish Rana and Shubman Gill opened the innings for Kolkata to chase down this grand total. But they couldn’t provide a strong start to their side as the orange cap holder Rana got out at 18 and his partner Shubman Gill at 21. Captain Eoin Morgan scored 29 and Andre Russell scored 31 in the end.

But still, they fell short for 60 runs in the end. Kyle Jamieson took 3 for 41 and Harshal Patel’s 2 wickets in his 4 over spell by giving away only 17 runs. KKR will face Chennai on Wednesday and RCB will face Rajasthan on Thursday in their next match.
