IPL 2021: ‘Harsh call by selectors’ to drop Manish Pandey: David Warner

IPL 2021 : ‘Harsh call by selectors’ to drop Manish Pandey : David Warner

Yesterday Sunrisers Hyderabad suffered a super over defeat to Delhi Capitals at Chepauk Stadium, Delhi right now are at the 2nd spot on the league table. Sunrisers Hyderabad came with a change in their batting order as Virat Singh replaced the experienced Manish Pandey in the side. And it didn’t well as expected for the Hyderabad-based side as he lost his wicket only for 4 runs after facing 14 deliveries. As a result, they lost to Delhi in a  super over even though Kane Williamson single handedly tried to chase the score.

“It was a harsh call in my opinion. But at the end of the day, it is a decision of the selectors to do that,” Warner said at the post-match presentation when asked about Pandey’s absence.

“You can’t discredit Virat. He’s a very good player and on this surface, not getting too much time out there, it’s very difficult,” Warner said. “They [the Capitals bowlers] bowled fantastic through the middle and made it challenging for us.”
