Chennai Super Kings all-rounder Dwayne Bravo faces criticism after he tried to ‘steal’ a run against Rajasthan Royals at the Wankhede.

Yesterday Chennai Super Kings defeated Rajasthan Royals by defending a 188 run total at the Wankhede stadium of Mumbai. Even after a comfortable victory by 45 runs, all-rounder Dwayne Bravo became a part of criticism after he tried to steal a run while batting first yesterday.

In the IPL 2019, when Ravichandran Ashwin mankade Jos Buttler in a match, he faced a lot of criticism and his act was also tagline as an ‘unsportpersonlike act’. And yesterday it showed why marketing should not be a great deal in cricket, all-rounder Dwayne Bravo was seen standing at least a yard ahead of the crease while Rajasthan’s Mustafizur Rahman hadn’t even released the ball. And world-renowned commentator Harsha Bhogle had something to say on this act,

“You cannot be there. He has stolen more than a yard there, Dwayne Bravo,” Bhogle said during commentary. “That is why I believe you’re entirely within your rights — it should almost be mandatory in team meetings — to say, ‘Run him out’. All this talk about not being in the spirit of the game is so much nonsense. He has taken a yard! I never understood how it is in the spirit of the game to run less and claim the run. That is against the spirit of the game,” he added.
