Boycott UGC Guidelines: NCP Youth Wing Students Protest Against UGC’s Decision To Conduct Exams!

After months of secrecy and delays, the University Grants Commission finally gave their decision to conduct exams for every final year student. This decision came a month after the massive confusion created regarding the exam scenario. The UGC has passed out the decision to conduct exams for final year students by September end.

However, this decision hasn’t been taken kindly by the students, who are not calling to Boycott UGC Guidelines. In order to stay safe from the coronavirus, the NCP Youth Wing in Mumbai took to the streets in a protest to Boycott UGC Guidelines and scrap the examinations all-together. This decision has once again the Shiv Sena led-Maharasthra Government to its knees.

To protest against the decision and Boycott UGC Guidelines, students of NCP Youth Wing have started an online petition calling to scrap the exams altogether. The Maharashtra Government had earlier conveyed the decision to cancel all the exams due to the pandemic. However, this decision was later reversed by the UGC. After the Union Home Ministry permitted the conduct of examinations, the UGC decided to conduct exams for all final year students by September end.

Yuva Sena leader Varun Sardesai started an online petition on Tuesday (14/7/2020) to demand the cancellation of the exams and Boycott UGC Guidelines. This petition has garnered rapid support from student communities all around. Sardesai also wrote to HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal to address the student communities’ problems due to the pandemic and cancel the examinations.
