All India Law Entrance Test or AILET is a law exam conducted by the National Law University, Delhi. The syllabus for this exam is different than most of the law examinations in India. AILET exams enable candidates to take admitted in various national and state law colleges, right from bachelor to Ph.D. degrees. However, the exam is restricted to Indian nationals only. NRIs and foreign nationals are exempted from this exam.

Minimum percentage required to fill the AILET form

AILET has minimal eligibility requirements to apply for the exam. The minimum eligibility criteria for the AILET exam is that the candidate has 45% marks in their 10+2 standard for general category students. There is a relaxation of 5-10% for category students.

For the Master’s candidates, there is a requirement of 50% in their Bachelor’s course to apply for the exam. Additionally, scores above 45% in their 10+2 are preferred. Students in the final year of their Bachelor’s degree are also eligible to apply based on the provisional passing certificate.

Similarly, for Ph.D. candidates, a minimum of 55% is required in all previous academic records to appear for the AILET 2022 Exam for Ph.D. aspirants. Candidates with previous research experience or work experience are preferred as well.

Number of attempts in AILET Exam

There are a lot of questions regarding the number of attempts a candidate can appear for in the AILET exam. There is no limit in the number of attempts for any candidates applying for graduate, post-graduate, and Ph.D. graduates. Furthermore, there is no age limit for the AILET examination.

Also, 30% of the seats through AILET are reserved for women, which also includes foreign nationals. The counselling process is also an important element of the admissions process. Syllabus for the AILET Exam

The syllabus of AILET includes English, General Knowledge and Current Affairs, Logical reasoning, and the AILET 2022 exam has been modified since two sections – Elementary mathematics and Legal aptitude have been scrapped from the exam.

The paper is divided into three sections, i.e., Logical reasoning for 70 marks. The English language consists of 50 marks, and the remaining 30 marks are covered by the general knowledge section. Similarly, the paper consists of 150 marks consisting of 150 questions. Besides, the duration of the paper is 90 minutes. The AILET examination will be conducted on 1st May 2022.
