8 Ways To Take Care Of Your Face Post Botox Treatment

Botox is a drug. It is termed as a protein, which is used as a preventive mechanism against the release of a neurotransmitter i.e. acetylcholine. This neurotransmitter is secreted from axon endings of the cell. This results in the paralysis of that area (body part).

Botox is prepared using the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. Botulism is the same food poisoning caused by this toxin. It is used in little doses to treat different health issues. Health issues include:
1.Migraine
2.Irregular blinking
3.Excess sweating of underarm
4.Misaligned eyes
5.Facial wrinkles

Mostly Botox is popular for its use as a cosmetic. Botox is mostly known for its muscle relaxing properties. It paralyzes certain parts temporarily and hence it is helpful to vanish wrinkles on your face.

Botox injections are proved to be safe for facial treatment. This injection contains diluted Botox that prevents muscle contraction. Hence, it makes facial skin softer and brighter.

FDA had approved Botox in 1989 to cure blepharospasm. Doctors also believe that Botox can cure eye muscle issues. Later in 2002, people started using Botox for cosmetic treatments like straightening of wrinkles, and frown lines between eyebrows as per guidelines put forward by the FDA.

Botox treatment does not need to be hospitalized, you can come home after treatment just take enough care of the treated area to get the results you desire.

FAQ: Can I wear a surgical face mask or KN95 respirator after undergoing Botox treatment?

Answer: The part which has undergone Botox treatment shouldn’t be touched else it can spread the toxin. Few masks like surgical masks apply minimally pressure over the part where Botox treatment has been taken, and hence such masks can be used.

KN95 respirators or even N95 respirators are skin-hugging and tight which applies enough pressure to spread the toxin. Hence, it is recommended that tight-fitting masks and respirators must be avoided after undergoing Botox treatment.
