A massive fire broke out today in the evening at the Pathanwadi Area of Sanjay Nagar, Malad, Mumbai. The fire broke out near Malika Hotel at around 6:18 p.m, but according to the local residents of Malad, the fire brigade arrived late.
Local residents told the media that the fire brigade arrived about an hour late. Presently, police, fire brigade team, ambulance and rescue teams are at the site.
Stocks of wooden furniture had been piled up at the site of the fire accident, as a result of which, the fire got intensified. However, the exact reason behind the outbreak of the fire is yet to be known.
Fortunately, the people residing nearby are safe, as they were evacuated as soon as the fire broke out. No casualties have been reported yet.
Initially, the fire had been declared as a "Level 1" fire, but due to its subsequent intensification, it was later on declared as a "Level 2" fire.
