Bollywood superstar Sanjay Dutt has been diagnosed with lung cancer. Sanjay Dutt was previously admitted to Lilavati Hospital, Mumbai, after the actor complained of breathlessness. Sanjay Dutt was discharged from Lilavati Hospital on Monday (August 10), and his COVID-19 test has also come back negative. He was admitted to Lilavati Hospital on August 8 and was discharged after 2 days under observation.
Sanjay Dutt tweeted on Tuesday (August 11) that he will be taking a short break from work and professional commitments to focus on his medical treatment. Sanjay Dutt has been diagnosed with lung cancer and is likely to visit the US for treatment. Dutt urged his fans to not worry about his lung cancer as he will be back soon with people's love and support. According to reports, Sanjay Dutt has been diagnosed with stage-3 lung cancer following which he will fly to the US for treatment.

Noted film journalist Komal Nahta shared the news earlier today. Nahta tweeted that Sanjay Dutt has been diagnosed with lung cancer and is likely to visit the US for treatment against lung cancer. Sanjay Dutt was last seen in the 2019 film 'Panipat,' and his next movie 'Sadak 2' will release on OTT platform Disney+Hotstar. Sanjay Dutt will now fly to the US to seek treatment against lung cancer. However, it is yet unclear when Sanjay Dutt will leave for the US for his treatment against lung cancer. Sanjay Dutt's team revealed that they will announce a statement later regarding his diagnosis with lung cancer and when he will fly to the US for treatment.

How Was Sanjay Dutt Diagnosed With Lung Cancer?
Sanjay Dutt had earlier complained of breathlessness on August 8, following which he was immediately admitted to Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai. He was kept under observation for two days and had to undergo the mandatory COVID-19 test. However, Sanjay Dutt's COVID-19 test came back negative, and he was discharged on August 10. Sanjay Dutt was advised to take CT as well as a PET scan as well to be safe. In the results, it was found that Sanjay Dutt had developed lung cancer and is suffering from stage-4 lung cancer. It was revealed that air wasn't entering his through his right lung, and there was fluid accumulation in his right lung (pleural effusion) accompanied by two lesions, one on each lung.
However, Sanjay Dutt was previously told that it could be a bacterial infection or the adverse effect of strenuous exercise that may have taken its toll on the lung. When the fluid was extracted from his lungs, it was sent for a detailed diagnosis. The results of the diagnosis further confirmed that Sanjay Dutt had developed lung cancer. As per reports, Sanjay Dutt consulted with an oncologist to discuss the potential treatments against lung cancer. However, at 61, his only treatment option against lung cancer is undergoing chemotherapy. Sanjay Dutt is likely to visit the US for further treatment against lung cancer. Reports have indicated that Sanjay Dutt is diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer.
