Three JeM (Jaish-e-Mohammed) terrorists were killed during an encounter in the Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday (July 17th) morning. Three Indian soldiers were injured during the encounter, however, there have been casualties reported so far.
The three terrorists killed consisted of a Top JeM Commander, an IED expert, and a foot soldier respectively. According to Director General of Police Dilbagh Singh, the top JeM commander killed during the encounter had previously managed to flee from the police previously.
After receiving a tip-off about the presence of terrorists on Friday morning, Indian security forces launched a search operation in the Nangad area of Kulgam. However, this search operation turned into an encounter when the terrorists opened fire. The Armed Forces fired in retaliation which killed 3 JeM terrorists in Kulgam, Jammu and Kashmir
