Rage grew against Article 30 of the Indian Constitution as the Majority Hindu Community asked the government to Scrap Article 30. India is a secular country and Article 14 guarantees Right to Equality whereas Article 30 treats religions with discrimination.
What is Article 30?
Article 30(1) in The Constitution Of India 1949
(1) All minorities, whether based on religion or language, shall have the right to establish and administer educational institutions of their choice
(1A) In making any law providing for the compulsory acquisition of any property of an educational institution established and administered by a minority, referred to in clause ( 1 ), the State shall ensure that the amount fixed by or determined under such law for the acquisition of such property is such as would not restrict or abrogate the right guaranteed under that clause.

Why are people protesting?
India, being a secular country treats all religions equally. However, Article 30 grants some special privileges to the minority community. The Majority is now claiming that they have to always suffer because of minority rights. They have asked the Government to Scrap Article 30 and ensure equality to all religions.
